To set up your Outlook Express client for IMAP

 
If you follow these following steps you should be fine:
 
  1. Make sure that you have your current password, if you do not we DO NOT keep these on file (this is for security reasons and all passwords are encrypted on our server and we do not keep the key!), so we will have to generate a new one for you. Please contact us here for your details, remember to include your email address that you want reset.
  2. Assuming now you have your username, these are the settings that you require
     
    • Incomming or imap server is imap.fbi.ie
    • select ssl as connection security type
    • port is 993
    • Outgoing or smtp server is smtp.fbi.ie
    • select ssl as connection security type
    • port 587
The following is a simple step by step screen shot guide to do add these records.
 
Open Outlook Express.
Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...
Click Add, and then click Mail...
Enter your name in the 'Display name' field, and click Next.
Enter your full email address (username@domain.ie) in the 'Email address' field, and click Next.
For 'My incoming mail server is a ______ server', please select IMAP in the drop-down menu.
Enter 'imap.fbi.ie' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server' field. Enter 'smtp.fbi.ie' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server' field.
Click Next.
Enter your full email address (including '@your_domain.com') in the 'Account name' field. Enter your password in the 'Password' field, and click Next.
 
Personal Information:
 

Click Finish.
Highlight imap.fbi.ie under Account, and click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Outgoing Mail (SMTP), check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL).'
Enter '587' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP)' field.
Under Incoming mail (IMAP), check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)'. The port will change to '993'.
 
Server Setup
 

Click the Servers tab, and check the box next to 'My server requires authentication.'
 
Server Authentication

Click OK and your IMAP email setup will be finished.
